Coronado National Forest Sets Restrictions to Prevent Fires

All six national forests in Arizona set restrictions

TUCSON, Ariz. (AP) — Another national forest in Arizona is tightening restrictions on various activities to help prevent human-caused wildfires.

All six national forests in Arizona in April prohibited campfires and the latest move has the Coronado National Forest headquartered in Tucson implementing additional restrictions that take effect Friday.

The additional restrictions include bans on smoking outside vehicles or buildings, welding and shooting except when lawfully hunting.

The Tonto National Forest headquartered in Phoenix on Tuesday implemented its own second stage of restrictions.

The state and the U.S. Bureau of Land Management also implemented the restrictions across much of Arizona on Tuesday.
